Comparative evaluation of studies outside Quebec: translating diplomas and transcripts

For the MIFI comparative evaluation, documents not entirely in French or English need an original paper translation, seals included.

The comparative evaluation for studies done outside Quebec helps employers and schools understand your education. Here is what MIFI asks for the translation.

When to translate

A document that is not entirely in French or English must come with an original paper translation into French or English by a recognized translator.

Seals too

The seals and certification marks on all documents must also be translated. This is a common omission: an untranslated stamp can delay the file.

Official transcripts and diplomas

For official academic documents, the translation is attached to the document or sent with the rest of the file.

Certified copies

Certified true copies must be certified by the issuer or by a recognized authority in the issuing country, with the certifier’s name, seal, signature and title. Do not submit originals unless specifically requested.

Order the translation

In the order form, upload every page, including the back of transcripts: we also translate seals and stamps.
