Seals, stamps and notes: why everything must be translated
MIFI and the Collège des médecins require seals to be translated. What a complete translation contains and why a missed stamp can delay a file.
A certified translation must be complete. That also applies to parts people think are secondary: seals, stamps, margin notes.
What institutions say
- MIFI, comparative evaluation of studies: the seals and certification marks of all documents must be translated.
- MIFI, general rules: you need the original of the complete translation.
- Collège des médecins du Québec: seal text in a foreign language must also be translated.
What we translate
- the main text and headings;
- readable seals, stamps and revenue stamps;
- handwritten notes and margin text;
- registration numbers and codes.
An unreadable part is marked as unreadable: we do not invent anything.
How to help us
- send every page, front and back;
- take close-ups of faint stamps;
- avoid glare on laminated documents.
